Normalize address, city, state, ZIP, property type, and coordinates where available. Do not silently infer homeowner intent, phone numbers, or damage.
5. Rank for field efficiency
Proximity is transparent and repeatable. Additional property fields can support a route, but every extra factor needs a defensible source and purpose. A useful workbook lets the crew sort by distance, city, ZIP, property type, or available building year while keeping the original distance visible.
6. Summarize streets, not just rows
Five hundred addresses can still be a poor route if they are scattered. Grouping candidates by normalized street name shows where multiple field checks can occur without repeatedly moving vehicles. The output should show candidate count and nearest distance, then let the manager compare concentration with access and local knowledge.
7. Validate locally before representing damage
The final step belongs to the field crew. Observe lawful public context, follow local solicitation rules, obtain permission where required, and inspect before making a property-specific claim. A public hail observation justifies attention; it does not justify saying a roof is damaged.
